Highline Volleyball faced off against the Foster Volleyball team in a game that would decide who was the league champions. It was the first set and Foster came out strong and the Highline crowd was stunned. Foster was getting louder and louder as the game went on, Highline fought hard but lost the first set 16-25.

Highline was undeterred and unbothered by the loud foster crowd, showing what makes them a state caliber team. Highline pulled it together and came right back starting the 2nd set off great 4-0. However, Foster wasn’t going to go down that easy, they fought back and made it 4-3. That's when the Lady Pirates really brought it together and pulled away from the Bulldogs. They would end up winning the second set 25-18.

Now the Highline crowd was starting to get fired up, starting chants, both crowds were going back and forth trying to drown out the other with their own noise. Set 3 started and you could see the frustration in the Foster players. Highline was taking advantage as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back winning the 3rd set 25-19.

Coming into the 4th set it felt as if the Pirates were going to walk out of the gym with not only the win but also the league trophy. The Bulldogs had other ideas, during the short intermission the Foster coaches put together a chant that fired up not only the Foster players but also their crowd, they were now louder than ever and the players were playing better than they had the whole night. Foster went up big to start, Foster was up 7-23 when Highline put up a run inching their way back into the game, 10-23, 12-24, but Foster was strong and won the 4th set 13-25.

Going into the 5th and final set, pride and the league championship on the line Highline came out with the momentum, both crowds were not giving up, screaming at the top of their lungs cheering on their team. Highline came out strong and took an early lead 2-0, but the final set would not be a blow out. Both teams gave it their all and ended on a note that well represented the entire match. Foster would come back and take the lead 2-3 but Highline would not take a loss in front of their home crowd, Highline went up 7-3 but Foster would not give up continuing to fight until the very end. Foster would bring it back to 7-9 but would not score again. Highline went on a fantastic run and won the final set 15-9 to become the league champs.

Foster walked out with their heads held high, but Highline walked out with the win.
