Girls Basketball
Yvan Granil

This school year has been filled with a lot of moving and with new stuff. One of those being are the new coaches for both boys and girls basketball. Focusing on our girls basketball, our new coaches are Michelle Montgomery (Varsity Coach) and Kelsey Abrejera (Junior Varsity Coach).

Diamond Concepcion, playing the point guard and shooting guard position on the girls varsity team says,“I think our practices are going well, as for games, I think we get nervous and don’t execute well,” as a response to how the practices and games correlate together.

Players adjusting to the new coaches seem to have troubles but not for Diamond,“I love our new coaches, Coach Mo (Michelle Montgomery) pushes us because she wants us to succeed. Coach K (Kelsey Abrejera), has a lot of motivation for the game and she helps us be physically fit and helps out with guards.” She enjoys being able to be comfortable and is already getting the flow of the new coaches. Diamond being one of the leaders of the team, helps out and polishes her team to be better, and communicates with each other for great causes.

“We have strong individual traits, we just need to use them as a team. We may not be the best but we look forward to being better as a team every single day.” Diamond wants the team to use each other to sharpen their skills and get better on the daily.
