 A 4-period day means students will attend four longer classes each day instead of six shorter ones. Each class covers a full year’s content in one semester. 

 Exact times are still being finalized, but classes will be longer to allow for deeper learning and project-based activities. 

 Not necessarily. The goal is to complete more work during class through hands-on learning, reducing the need for additional homework. 

 Students will complete up to eight classes per year—four each semester. 

Yes! The 4-period day actually increases opportunities to take electives by reducing scheduling conflicts. 

With more credit opportunities, students can retake courses within the same year without falling behind. 

Students can explore advanced courses, career-connected learning, and electives aligned with their future goals earlier and more often. 

All students will receive personalized support. Longer periods allow for stronger teacher-student connections and tailored instruction. 

Yes. Highline High School will provide resources, updates, and host informational sessions to guide students and families.
