Starting fall 2025, Highline High School will shift to a 4-period day schedule. Students will attend four longer classes each day instead of six shorter ones, giving them more time to dive deeper into their learning, work on real-world projects and build stronger connections with teachers.
The new schedule is part of our districtwide Secondary Redesign initiative, shaped by nearly two years of feedback from students, families and staff. It is designed to offer students more choice, stronger relationships, and greater opportunities to explore interests and future goals.
More Time, More Choice
A 4-period day means students can complete a full year’s course in just one semester, opening space for more electives, career-focused classes and advanced coursework—without having to sacrifice one for another.
