Voters Renew Highline's Education Levy

Voters Renew Highline's Education Levy

62.5% Approve Local 4-year Funding Measure

With early returns in, it appears voters will renew Highline Public Schools’ local education levy for another four years. The approval rate is 62.5 percent (as of Friday, November 12). The levy is on track to continue local funding for critical education needs not covered by state and federal funding.

Superintendent Susan Enfield said she is deeply grateful to Highline voters for supporting Highline students and staff.

“By renewing the education levy, our Highline community continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing all Highline students with equitable opportunities to succeed in school. Thank you, voters!”

The levy supports:

  • High-quality instruction. The levy pays for the support and training our teachers and instructional assistants need to provide students with high-quality instruction.

  • Academic and social-emotional support for students. The pandemic disrupted students’ lives and education. The levy ensures that our students get academic support to be on track for the next grade level. It funds counselors and social workers who support students’ social-emotional needs.

  • Student opportunities. The levy funds broad course offerings for high school students, including advanced courses.

  • Health and safety. The levy funds nurses and other staff not fully funded by the state.
