Highline High School students are sharing art and personal stories in a display titled "Belonging" in Burien.
You can view their work and read their stories in the exterior window of the Highline Heritage Museum through the month of February.
In teacher Mario Pilapil’s English Language Development Literature and Composition 1 class, students explored what belonging means to them – in their first home countries and here in Highline.
"We used lenticular art and figurative writing to juxtapose and portray their ideas," Mario said. "Collaborating with the museum was such a memorable and valuable experience for these young scholars."
"Ultimately, we want to show them they belong here, in Highline."
Below are a few photos of their accordion-pleated artwork, personal stories, and the window display at the museum.
See more by visiting the exterior display window of the Highline Heritage Museum, at the corner of SW 152nd Street and Ambaum Boulevard SW in Burien.
